Rockwell... again!!

So my computer died. A while ago. Then I got a new one! Yay! I'm just gonna say that's why I havent posted anything since July. Anyway, here's Rockwell again! This is still in progress... I just wanted to make a cute cartoony version of my little fatty. :)
He is my muse!! I'll update even MORE when I plug my scanner in.... haha

For those of you that don't know, I recently adopted a dog. We named him Rockwell. He is awesome. I've taken tons of pictures but figured I'd do a little drawing of him too. I'm planning on doing more but this is all I could squeeze out at the moment. Oh, and here's a random picture so you can see what he looks like :)

mural!

Last weekend I went back home to Massachusetts and painted a mural for my little brother. He had requested animals, cars, sports and a city. And a list of specific animals. So this is what I came up with. He's a tough critic-- very honest "that moose doesn't any eyes! That steering wheel is too dark, I cant see it!" But in the end he said he thought it was "Beautiful" so thats a big complement. (He's three and a half by the way.) Anyway it was really fun to paint something huge.

Oldie but Goodie

I just found this illustration I did a year or so ago. It was part of a project about trade... about human interaction with products in big industry... or something heady like that I cant really remember right now because its 12:15 and past my bedtime. But I just found it and I really like it. That's all.

I'm so happy! My pal Amy Marie just passed along this Creative Blogger award to me. Her stuff is amazing and she's been doing this a lot longer than I, so I'm flattered that she thought of me and my tiny blog. I guess I have to post seven things I love and then pass along the award to someone else. Yay!

I effin love watercolor.

I love doodling around with watercolors on big pieces of paper and seeing what happens. Then once I scan it all in I just friggin love messing around with all the splotches in photoshop. So this stuff is just kind playing with scale and color. I like doing stuff with the thumbnail mentality when Im just playing around.

More Life Drawings

Here are some more life drawings. Again, all very quick, and this time very messy. I actually like how messy and crazy everything looks this time... kind of adds some texture. Also the paper is so thin you can see through to other drawings--which I actually like. Ah, happy accidents.

Life Drawings

Here are some recent quick life drawings I've done. Most were only a minute or so... such a good work out! I feel that drawing like this is like yoga for your mind-- its so real, just paper, ink, and a model. No computer bull, no one telling you if its "good enough". It's so freeing!

We went to the park the other weekend and took some photos. These were by the boat house, I liked how the trees reflection in the water was so clear.

"Time... On My Hands" I went kind of abstract with the "time" but I think it kind of works. I couldn't decide on which version I liked more, the more stylized hands or the more realistic... so I put them both up.

pastel fun

I tried to do a self portrait. Was unsuccessful. I'll try to blame it on the fact that I only had my compact mirror so I couldn't really see myself.... but it could just be that I suck.

Either way, I decided to just mess around with it in the computer because I do like the actual pastel-ness of it.

My submission for the Flight of the Conchords arty poster contest. I wanted to do something inspired by the Beatles Revolver album cover, but then there was a lot of extra space so I just kind of went with it.
