I watch a couple of movies where they spoke of horses that got shipwrecked on various islands and have since breed to create hosts of wild horses in the most unlikely places. This illustration puts that moment of survival vs. death into perfect realisation. This is a truly beautiful illustration of something (dream or otherwise) coming to life.
Way cool! Love the motion of this. I really like all the intricate details. Usually I think of "intricate" as being something fussy, or static somehow, but this is all motion.
Was this a dream? I used to try to illustrate my dreams, but they were always the quiet ones.
love it! your dreams are beautiful! my dreams would be scary illustrations,...like the other night i had a dream that oswald had an extra eye on top of his head, luckily i was able to zipper it closed....i'm still thinking about that eye.
Golly, you have so many comments already! Firstly, love the sense of scale with the tiny person in the foreground. I also like your pattern and color choice.
I dont know if any of you check back again after leaving a comment, but I just wanted to say a sincere thank you to those who wrote such nice comments, I cant believe I got so many! Usually my dreams are pretty lame or work stress related, but sometimes I do have amazing, large, fantastical dreams. Thanks again for the generous comments!
This IS intricate! And beautiful. Love the simple color scheme. (and also love your "More Life Drawings" - what fun they are!)
