I had the great fun of designing the wedding invites of a co-worker recently. She wanted something cool and fun and we had a create time coming up with ideas. These were so fun to do because they are so non traditional. I heard good reviews from people who received them! :)
I am loving yellow right now... apparently. As I put the new duvet cover on I realized the nail polish I bought yesterday matched it exactly. Hmm, it looks paler in this picture than the post below... whatever, you get the idea. Yea summer!
I finally got some frames for art that's been hanging around. And two new pieces that were from my friends (we did an art swap!) Ahh, feels good to finally frame this stuff. And on my new yellow duvet cover nonetheless!
The fab grendel print is from my friend Steph. The adorable bunny on the hill is from my friend Amy.
The bear family is super sweet and even nicer looking in person.
"A pigeon produces its weight in droppings every eight days."
This fact is so random. A couple ways of going about illustrating this passed through my mind when I read it, but I decided to just go with a funny silly way instead of a potentially gross (haha) way. I hope he's got something to read!
"The "M" on M&M's candies were stenciled by hand until WWII labor shortages forced the confectioner to automate the process." The idea that the M was being hand applied is just so crazy! So I thought, what if someone decided to really take pride in their M one day, and just make it super fancy?
Me and my fellow illustrator friends decided to challenge ourselves with illustrating one random fun fact a week. Check out Amy's, and Steph's.
(From the comments I've read on Factopolis regarding their facts, it seems as if some of them don't have a lot of proof backing them up. But who cares?! The imagery is so much fun!)
We went on a mini vacation to Captiva Island in Flordia. I got some great pictures! Sean took this one of me that I thought summed up the vaca pretty well-- "look, sun! Breeze!"So that picture made me think of old travel images, so I made this. :)
I felt like exploring a little more of the world I made in my earlier post. Something about it feels eerie... In a good way. I think I may keep going, and see what happens.
